Customer Reviews

Dr. Strange takes the stage.

A most mystical figure indeed. A simply beautiful rendering of the classic master of the mystic arts! A must have for any marvel fan of any age! His cape is well detailed and fabricated from a nice latex which gives it stability yet remains supple and flexible. Unfortunately, when his cape is on, it is thick and heavy enough to completely limit his poseability. Another drawback is the engineering of his hand-sculpt. His hands basically stay in a "spiderman-shooting-his-web"-type of mystic mudra. He also has no way to levitate, which is a standard practice when Dr. Strange meditates. It looks like I am going to get out the old DRILL and pop a hole in his back so we can attach one of those transparent stands which come with other flying marvel legends, like the Vision!
Still, I say buy this figure. He's definitely hip.

A PLEASANT SURPRISE...

I wasn't expecting much from this figure, but the more I look at it, the better it gets. From the Galactus Series, (or Series 9), comes Doctor Strange--Master of the Mystic Arts. All the figures in this series are really very nice and I can't find many bad things to say about them at all. Doctor Strange is no exception. A new body sculpt and plenty of great detail from his face right down to his cape--which seems to be the best part. His cape completely surrounds him and is made of a light, floppy type of rubber. It's nicely detailed and makes the figure look great. However, it does keep his arms from being posed in most positions. This is bad for playabilty, but doesn't hurt anything for those who like to display their Marvel Legends. His articulation is very good--not overdone--and all the joints were nice and tight, except for the shoulders and ankles. But, no big deal there. His paint job is beautiful. As I mentioned, he is part of the Galactus Series. Which means that instead of a wall mountable display base, you get a piece of Galactus' huge 16 inch body. When you get all 7 figures in this series, the pieces can be joined together to make the 8th figure in the series--Galactus, Devourer of Worlds and arch nemesis of the Fantastic Four. A shrewd marketing technique by ToyBiz. Everyone will surely buy all the figures in order to get Galactus. He truly does look amazing when he is assembled. Doctor Strange also comes with a comic book to read that covers the very first 3 or 4 appearances of his character--including his origin. Being a founding member of the Defenders and an excellent addition to the Marvel Legends line, no Marvel fan should be without their own Doctor Strange action figure. He's a great buy.
