| Toy Description With a little help from a bigger friend (parent, guardian…), young children can launch into the world of learning via interactive books. Little Touch LeapPad is designed for tots 6 to 36 months, with three distinct levels of activities and stories: musical rhythms and sounds; short descriptive phrases; and rhymes and early learning. Stories or activity cards snap into the book frame, along with a story cartridge. Grownups will need to help little ones activate the book pages by touching the "Go" button every time a page is turned, as well as showing young "readers" how to touch pictures to make them come to life with developmentally appropriate narration and learning activities. A comfy cushion is attached to the LeapPad platform for cozy shared reading time. Four AA batteries required (not included). |

Great for older babies We bought this for our daughter at Christmas 2004 when she was 9 months old and even though she showed some interest in it she only really wanted to lean on it to make the noises or to try and rip the pages, (which I must say have really stood up to their claim of being tear and stain resistant what with my kid trying her best to destroy them!!) I had to put it away for awhile because of this and only just recently brought it back out. Now that she's 19 months old she can more easily push on the pictures to make the sounds and she definalty appreciates the music (she love "Where the Wild Things Are", she takes the extra mini book that comes with it and dances to "Do the Wild Thing Dance") She also loves to carry it around by the handle as well as taking the cartirdges in and out of their slot in back. The sound quality is great! And the narrators they got for some the the books are wonderful, I especially like "How much I Love You" The three different play modes are great as well and allow you or your child to chose the style you like the best
Love it but not for babies I love this but not for babies. Hopefully when my baby gets older she will have more fun with it.
It's ok but it needs improvements We got this for our daughter's first Christmas becasue we thought it would be educational, fun and grow with her. Well at almost 15 months she still can't make this thing work most of the time. You have to press the area so hard to make it work that most time my husband or I have to do it for her. At first she was ok with us helping her but since she's turned 1 and hit her independant stage, she doesn't want us to help her with it. She will beat on this thing tring so hard to get it to work but she rarely gets anyhting out of it. This makes her mad and turns it off...the power button is onteh front and very easy to work. She's just lost interst in it totally becasue it is so hard for her to use.
