Best toy I ever bought my son!

My six year old son has lots of wonderful toys, but for the money, this is the best value we have ever got! I had no idea that he would play with this every single day! For hours! He loves to build (he built the knex rippin rocket rollercoaster all by himself Christmas day). He has built every model in the guide book several times, and then built many from his imagination. At first, we were disappointed in the way Lego shows some pictures of models, without instructions. They show this very detailed, awesome fire engine. My son was hesitant to try and build it, and to be honest I didn't think he could from just a picture. I encouraged him to give it a try, and a little while later, he came to me beaming! He had done it!!! Amazing. We can hardly wait to get the robobot set. This building set is awesome, and far surpassed my expectations.

I bought this set for my four year old because of how much he likes vehicles. Although he is a bit young for the set which is rated for 6 and up I knew he could use the wheels to create his own simple vehicles and grow with it. I was pleasently surprised to find he could build the first design on his own with me guiding him through the instructions.

There are 290 pieces with innumerable special detail pieces which we were very lacking in, in our collection. A down side though is with ten wheels only two vehicles can be made at a time. With other wheels from other sets though there are many more cars that could be made. The instructions are great and designs fun. The instruction book is for me the greatest benifit because of how it will guide him into making more complex designs. Highly recommended.
