| Toy Description Here's a learning toy that offers kids a wonderful, interactive introduction to the world of letters, sounds, and colors. Alphabet Pal features several ways to play--pull the string and, antennae flashing, the jolly green caterpillar rolls happily along singing the alphabet song. When one of the caterpillar's 26 multicolored alphabet legs is pressed, kids hear the name of that color, letter, or letter sound depending on which mode they choose. Best of all, Alphabet Pal is a parent's friend, too--it's not too loud and turns off by itself when idle. It comes with three demonstration batteries, which should be replaced with regular AA batteries. Made of durable plastic, the toy is 7 by 11.5 inches long. |

A Review of Leapfrog's Alphabet Pal I guess it's true: All children are not alike. Certainly, neither one of my children (now 3 and 5) would play with this toy. At a younger age, they didn't find pushing the legs and making noise much fun.
Fun But Gets Limited Attention My daughter just turned 1, and although she likes this toy she doesn't spend as much time with it as with other toys. The buttons on this toy play the same songs as on the Discovery Ball, but I love that these buttons are so much easier to press. They may be too easy though, cause my daughter loves rolling the toy around on the floor, which causes it to make constant sounds. The volume control is nice, and my daughter only needs to lightly pull on the string for it to light up and sing the ABCs. The picture with this listing is not the way our toy looks. Ours is much cuter, with red, yellow, green and blue feet and a purple body. I think my daughter will pay more attention to this toy as she grows.
once again, leap frog picked a winner! When my 6 month old got this toy for christmas, I was prepared for it to be one of those really loud and annoying toys that drives me crazy. So, I quickly sent this toy to live at Grammy's house (my son is there 2 days/week). But I was pleasantly surprised at what a great toy it is, and the variety of features it offers.
