A Fun Night's Sleep!
We bought this bed for our son when he was two and we felt it was time for him to come out of his crib. We assembled this in his room as it will not fit through the doorway assembled. It took a little while, but I do not feel it was any more difficult to assemble than any other children's items, a little patience and an extra set of hands was all it took. Our mattress slid in no problem, you just have to put the small side in first and turn and push it when it is inside. I do this by myself, and my husband, who would be the first to complain, has never complained. The sheets can be awkward to put on, you have to lean into the bed and lift the edge of the mattress, but making bunk beds is even harder. Good night kisses mean leaning in, too, but I certainly don't mind!
Cute! But practical?? Not so much...
This could have been a wonderful idea for a toddler bed! It won my toddler over, as well as my older kids, with it's cute car-with-a-sunroof design. The big problem is that my son is constantly falling out of it. Not too far to the floor, but still a major problem that mounds of blankets (etc) haven't been able to fix. I feel like I wasted a lot of money because he ends up in his sibling's beds not too long after his bedtime...
My son is climbing all over this bed!
We received this as a Christmas gift for our then 21 month-old son. He really enjoys the bed and it made transitioning from the crib to bed pretty easy. Our son is now over 2 and he climbs on top of his bed and jumps through the hole all when he is supposed to be sleeping! He also pushs it across his room and uses it as a ladder to get on top of his changing table, which is very unsafe! If I could pick a bed, I would not pick one that he can climb on top of. In fact, I'm looking for a boring wood toddler bed right now. I also don't like changing the sheets, it is very hard to get inside the bed and change the sheet. Additionally, the adult can't sit on the bed to read stories or cuddle. We have to sit on the floor during story time.
