Great for younger babies

I bought the Lamaze grip and grab rattle for my daughter when she was 2 1/2 months old. I love this toy because she can easily move and push it around. She's not able to hold on to things just yet, but the rattle gives her plenty of surfaces to grab onto - her little fingers are constantly busy. One surprise that she discovered is she can easily slip her arm in the middle of the rattle and pick it up and shake it which she absolutely loves. She enjoys watch and listen to the little balls roll around inside. The rattle is lightweight, colorful, and one of my daughter's favorites.

LAMAZE GRIP & GRAB RATTLE

AT FIVE MONTHS OLD, OUR GRANDDAUGHTER'S ATTENTION QUICKLY FOCUSED ON THIS EASY-TO-GRIP TOY. SHE WAVES IT ABOUT AND SUCKS ON THE SMOOTH BALLED AREAS THAT CONNECT THE COLORFUL RATTLE BARS. THE ONLY DRAWBACK IS THAT WHEN SHE STARTS WAVING THE TOY AROUND (WHICH OFTEN HAPPENS), SHE'LL STRIKE HER HEAD WITH IT. THE RATTLE IS NOT HEAVY ENOUGH TO HURT HER, BUT IT STARTLES HER. THEN SHE GOES RIGHT BACK TO PLAYING WITH IT (OR SUCKING ON IT). WE ATTACHED IT TO OUR BABY EINSTEIN, WHICH PREVENTS HER FROM HITTING HERSELF WITH IT AND STILL APPEARS TO BE FUN FOR HER.

A Wonderful Teaching Rattle!

My son loves this rattle, even at 11 months! It is sturdy, durable and washes very well in the dishwasher. The sides are hard and I can't see it being used as a teether, but it is small and light weight enough for little hands to shake, shake, shake!
